The Health Museum - The John P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science, also known as The Health Museum, is Houston's most interactive science learning center and a member institution of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. Located in the heart of the city's rich and varied Museum District, The Health Museum encourages growing interest and regard for healthier lifestyles, fitness and good physical, mental and spiritual health. The Museum treasures Houston's diverse population and welcomes individuals of all backgrounds.


Health Museum Seasonal Exhibits and Events

  • Survivng: The Body of Evidence (Oct. 3, 2009 to Jan. 3, 2010)
    • This exhibit is about you and all your fellow humans. Your body carries evidence of many distinctively human features that changed in your ancestors through the process of evolution.
  • Seige of Skeletons (Oct. 6, 2009 to Nov. 1, 2010)
    • It’s all about bones! See the sensational papier-mâché skeleton submissions from teams all over the Greater Houston area only at The Health Museum and on display October 6 through November 1. These human skeleton creations are part of the first annual Siege of the Skeletons event.
