City Hall Tours take place twice per month. The 2nd Monday (morning) and the 4th Thursday (afternoon) have been identified as tour dates. For any other special accommodations on times and dates, please contact xavier.herrera@cityofhouston.net.
Tour requests should be made two weeks in advance (so appropriate staffing arragments can be made).
Additionally, special requests such as an interpreter should also be made in advance preferably during the time of request.
City Hall Tour Agenda
1. City Hall Rotunda and reflection pool (weather permitting) - The City Hall Fact Sheet will be read at this time. (A copy has been provided to you for your review)
2. 15 min. movie (GHCVB) - General movie for visitors
3. Council Chambers (CH 2nd Floor) - Visitors will be allowed to sit in the Council Chairs (pictures can be taken at this time provided they have their own camera), Q&A Session will also be allotted at this time.
4. Mayor’s Proc. Room (CH 3rd Floor) - General/informative. Attempts will be made to see if a member of the Executive team can greet the group for approx. 3-5 mins.
5. Council Offices (CH Annex) - During this stretch of the tour, prior coordination with the area Council Office, a walk through of the Council Offices will occur, subtle statement made - Your behind the scenes look at your city government at work. To show a behind the scenes look at how city government works.
