Houston Center for the Arts BuildingIn 1993, the city bought the historic Star Engraving Building with the purpose of developing it into the Houston Center for the Arts (HCA).

Stages Repertory Theatre, a performing arts company for adult original works and children's theater, resides at this location, 3201 Allen Parkway.

The Houston Arts Alliance moved into the building in 1996 and occupies a substantial portion of the facility. The Bayou Preservation Alliance also calls HCA home.

The 46,741 square foot building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
