BROWN AND STEPHENSON JOIN GEORGE R. BROWN CONVENTION CENTER SALES STAFF Focus on Texas Associations, SMERF Markets and Legal Expertise Build on Client Relations
04.27.2006 -- Amy Brown and David Stephenson have joined the sales team of the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC). Brown will assume the role of sales manager while Stephenson will serve as sales contract administrator.
A native of Dayton, Texas, Brown previously served more than four years as destination sales executive for the Bryan-College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau. With the convention center, Brown will focus primarily in the Texas Association and SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious and Fraternal) markets, as well as establish and strengthen relationships with existing accounts.
Brown holds a BA from Texas A&M University and, in January 2006, obtained her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. This June, she will serve a one-year term on the Board of Directors for the Texas Hill Country Chapter of Meeting Professionals International.
Stephenson, a graduate of the University of Houston and the South Texas College of Law, previously worked as an attorney for a private law practice. In his role as contract administrator, he will review contracts and insurance for all clients holding events at the GRBCC.
“We’re thrilled to have the talents of both Amy and David as part of our team,” GRBCC Director of Sales Bob Balsam said. “Amy’s experience in convention sales coupled with David’s legal background will make a significant addition to the George R. Brown sales department and create even stronger relationships with our clients.”
