GEORGE R. BROWN ONE OF FOUR NOMINEES FOR CONVENTION CENTER OF THE YEAR AWARD

06.15.2006 -- The George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC) has been nominated as one of four finalists for the 2006 Event Solutions Spotlight Award as Convention Center of the Year.

In the publication's nomination, the Brown was hailed for its relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina last September, as well as its performance during the 2005 World Series and the International Quilt Festival, both held just one month after the hurricane recovery.

The other finalists are Connecticut Convention Center, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Georgia International Convention Center. The award will be announced on July 23 in Denver.

"We work hard every day to meet the needs of our clients and it's gratifying that our efforts have been noted.
