Reward for information on thefts in your neighborhood

December 4, 2007

As you may have heard, thieves recently vandalized Atherton Elementary School and the Julia C. Hester House in your neighborhood, taking copper tubing and wiring for resale on the underground market. It is a costly crime to our city as a whole and to these two local institutions that have helped our community for a long time.

I have joined with Crime Stoppers to offer a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in these cases, which took place sometime over the long Thanksgiving weekend. I know you will join me and your neighbors in speaking out and standing up against crimes like this.

Neighbors may have seen someone with the stolen goods or something else that may be useful to finding who did this. Houston Police have a person of interest in these cases, but we still want and need your help.

If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-T-I-P-S (713-222-8477).

Sincerely,

Bill White,

Mayor
