Free Tax Preparation Assistance

Not required to file a return?  You could be leaving your money behind!  In order to receive money back, and if eligible to receive the new Economic Stimulus Payment, you MUST file a federal tax return.  The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers FREE income tax preparation to families who earn less than $40,000 a year!!

For more information, and to find out what you need to bring to a VITA site, visit Houston Asset Building Coalition at http://www.houstonassetbuilding.org/ and AARP Tax-Aide at www.aarp.org/taxaide or call 2-1-1.

This information is brought to you by the Real Economic Impact Tour, an initiative between the National Disability Institute, the Internal Revenue Service, the City of Houston Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, and other cities across the nation that are working together to educate people with disabilities about tax issues.
