Festival of Abilities Celebrates Expanded Services and Facilities at
the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center

Saturday, April 16, 2011
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Metropolitan Multi-Service Center
1475 West Gray Houston 77019

Join Mayor Annise Parker, the Houston Parks Board and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department for the grand reopening of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, the new Vale-Asche Foundation Playground Without Limits and the new Adaptive Trail.

Mayor Annise Parker will participate in a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. to open the Vale-Asche Foundation Playground Without Limits. The new Playground Without Limits, with its ramp and deck system, gives children of all abilities a place to play with their peers; the new adaptive trail's features will challenge people with mobility and vision disabilities to improve life skills; and the revamped beep baseball field and tennis courts will expand exercise and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.

These new amenities and the relocation of the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities will provide a one stop location for people with disabilities to receive a variety of services.
