Join us for the 2009 Houston Affordable Housing Drive and find out how easy it is to own a new home. Visit dozens of professionals from the real estate, counseling and mortgage industries to learn how you can become a new homeowner.

You will learn about:

-         Affordable New Homes

-         Houston HOPE Homes

-         Down Payment Assistance ($10,000 - $37,500)

-         First Time Homebuyer Information

-         How to Qualify for a Mortgage

-         Understanding your Credit Scores

This is a great year to take advantage of affordable home prices and historically low mortgage rates - combined with down payment assistance from the City of Houston.

"Why rent when you can own your own home?," says Mayor Bill White.

Now is the perfect time to make the move to a new home for about the same amount you are currently paying for rent. If you qualify for down payment assistance, monthly mortgage payments (including taxes and insurance) could range from $650-$950.

The 2009 Houston Affordable Housing Drive is brought to you by the City of Houston, Land Assemblage Redevelopment Authority (LARA), and Houston HOPE Homes.
