2,500 Volunteers Needed to Plant 25,000 Trees 
in Celebration of Arbor Day 2011!

Houston is celebrating its 25th Annual Arbor Day on Saturday, January 22, 2011, by planting 25,000 trees! Individuals, families, groups and businesses are invited to volunteer for fun-filled hours of planting! Please help add to Houston's Urban Forest!

The fun begins with planting at 7:00 a.m. and continues with a 25th Anniversary Party complete with FREE food, fun, and live music at
Herman Brown Park, courtesy of our Arbor Day sponsors.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

                                    Date: Saturday, January 22, 2011
                             Time: 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
                             FREE Parking: Houston Community College (HCC) Northeast
                                                  555 Community College Dr., Houston, TX 77013

We will be planting in two locations. Shuttle buses will take you there after you have parked at HCC. The planting locations are: 1) Wallisville Road Esplanades from 610 to Maxey Road and
2) the 610 and I-10 Interchange.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for planting. Please wear work clothes, work gloves and closed-toed shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellant are recommended.  Some shovels will be available, but bring your own, if possible. 

Children must be accompanied by a guardian. No pets, please.
