Arbor Day 2009 Volunteer Tree Planting
Volunteers Needed to Plant Trees!

Celebrate Houston's Arbor Day on Saturday, January 24, 2009 by volunteering!  The Houston Parks and Recreation Department and Trees for Houston need 1,500 volunteers to plant 12,500 trees in 4 hours!

This year's tree planting will turn 14 blocks of Clay Road between Gessner and Blalock into tomorrow's forest. Groups, businesses, families and individuals are invited to volunteer for this fun and eco-friendly event.

We plant rain or shine! And pre-registration is required.  Volunteers are asked to bring gloves, shovels and rakes. Water and mosquito repellant are also recommended. Children must be accompanied by a guardian.

Plan to get dirty and have a great time!  For more information visit and click on Arbor Day.  To register, contact Gary Woods at or call (281) 474-4507.
