BARC Waives Adoption Fees in Honor of National "Just One Day" Event
June 8 - June 11, 2012

On Monday, June 11, 2012, BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions will join numerous animal shelters and organizations across the U.S. for the national "Just One Day" event. No savable pets will be euthanized at BARC that day.

In honor of the "Just One Day" event, BARC is waiving the fee for all cat and dog adoptions Friday, June 8 - Monday, June 11, noon - 6 p.m. at the BARC facility 3200 Carr Street, Houston 77026.

NOTE: BARC is normally closed on Mondays, but on Monday, June 11 the facility will be open for adoptions, fostering, and transfers to rescue groups only. To learn more about the BARC adoption process including basic eligibility requirements, visit BARC's website.

BARC also plans to offer $5 microchips on June 11 for dogs and cats that do not have one. Microchipping creates a permanent identification number for dogs and cats and helps re-unite a lost pet with its owner. Find out more about microchipping on BARC's website.

NOW is the time to help make a huge impact on the lives of Houston's homeless animals! In May, BARC saw the highest intake of animals in nearly two years. The entire Houston community is encouraged to unite in an effort to find a home for every animal at BARC by adopting or fostering a dog or cat!
