$10 Microchips at BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions Through April 20
BARC Reducing Pet Microchip Prices to Celebrate National Pet ID Week

BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions is celebrating National Pet ID week by reducing pet microchip  prices to $10 through Sunday, April 20 at its adoption facility and wellness center located at 3200 Carr Street, Houston 77026. BARC is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday - Wednesday and Friday - Sunday. All walk-ins are welcome.

Microchipping is a technology that is virtually painless for pets and creates a permanent method of identification.  A small computer microchip about the size of a grain of rice is embedded under a pet's skin, usually between the shoulder blades.

The chip contains a unique ID number that provides a permanent record of a pet's identity and access to contact information for the owner in the event a pet is lost.  It is important to keep contact information current.

A microchip should be one of several forms of identification on a pet. Pets should also have an ID and pet license tag; lost pets that have all of these forms of ID and a microchip have the greatest chance of being returned to their loving homes and families.
