The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department and Council Member Dave Martin are hosting a Mobile B.O.P.A. (Batteries, Oil, Latex Paint and Antifreeze) collection. All residents disposing of material must present a drivers license and water bill as proof of City of Houston residency. Only the following items WILL be accepted:
The following items WILL NOT be accepted: Alkaline batteries, ammunition, business waste, compressed gas cylinders, dioxins, electronics, explosives, household hazardous waste/chemicals, household trash, medical waste, paint without labels, PCB's (polychlorinated biphenyl), radioactive waste, smoke detectors or tires. Electronics WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED on Saturday, April 6, 2013, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Kingwood Metro Park and Ride located at 3210 West Lake Houston Parkway, Houston 77339. Electronic collections items accepted include cables, cable boxes, cameras, car batteries, cell phones, copiers, cords, fax machines, game consoles, hard drives, hubs and routers, keyboards, laptops, memory chips, mice, monitors, personal computers, personal digital assistants, printers, projectors, rechargeable batteries, scanners, servers, small kitchen appliances, tape drives and telephones.
