Bellaire Boulevard Reconstruction Project Restarts

The Bellaire Boulevard Widening and Access Management construction project will restart on Monday, February 18, 2013. The contractor is ahead of schedule and has completed a significant amount of the underground storm sewer construction for improved drainage as well as reconstructed and opened some intersections along Bellaire Boulevard and Beltway 8.

In the coming months, the contractor will be completing all underground storm sewer work, installing new underground waterlines, transferring service to these new waterlines and pouring concrete pavement for the eastbound lanes of Bellaire Boulevard.

  • The contractor will be shifting the eastbound travel lanes to the north half of Bellaire Boulevard
  • All motorists traveling on Bellaire Boulevard and wanting to turn left into commercial properties, residences, or schools, will be required to yield to oncoming traffic before turning
  • To minimize traffic congestion on Bellaire Boulevard, it is suggested that motorist attempt to enter their desired commercial property or residence by making right turn entries
  • During this construction portions of the roadway will be barricaded off for the work zone

The City of Houston and the management district greatly appreciate your cooperation as we move quickly towards the overall completion of the project. With your continued patience and understanding, this project will be a spectacular accomplishment for all involved and true benefits for those who live, work, and entertain in the area.
