Notification of Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Construction Project on the Allen Parkway/Montrose Intersection
In order to keep pace with the growing needs of the community, the City of Houston, through the Department of Public Works and Engineering, will be improving the storm sewers in the area described below. The contractor for this project is RJ Construction Company, Inc. and work will start on 6 July, 2009, and is scheduled to end on 13 August, 2009.

Project Description: Drainage Improvements at Grade Separations Pkg II: Allen Parkway at Montrose/Studemont: The work at this site involves the installation of 24-inch RCP storm sewer at the underpass of Montrose/Studemont within the main lanes of Allen Parkway. This will involve the demolition of the main lane, installation of the RCP, and reconstruction of the roadway. The majority of the work will affect the inbound lanes of Allen Parkway with a smaller portion to affect the outbound lanes. During the construction time, traffic control devices will be set that will have lanes closed during the daytime hours of 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At night from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday - Friday), the main lanes of Allen Parkway will be closed and traffic detoured to the feeder roads thru the intersection of Montrose/Studemont. During the weekend, starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday, the main lanes of Allen Parkway will be closed and traffic detoured to the feeder roads thru the intersection of Montrose/Studemont.
