Houston Signs Agreement to Increase Economic, Technological Development with Chiba, Japan

Houston and Chiba, Japan have been sister cities since 1972. The addendum to the sister city agreement focusses on increasing economic development and encouraging business exchanges between Houston and Chiba City. The Houston Technology Center also signed an agreement with Chiba City in order to exchange best practices and promote technology growth in both cities.

Sister city pairings are official relationships ratified by the mayors and city councils of the respective cities. Houston's sister city program is run by volunteers who form 17 sister city associations and Sister Cities of Houston, Inc.
