Opening of Public Skate Park

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department takes great pleasure in announcing the grand opening of its newest public skate park Friday, January 18, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. The new facility adds unmatched fun and new challenges to Cliff Tuttle Park, 6200 Lyons Avenue at Kress Street (Key Map 494H).

Skateboarders will thrill as they glide across the new quarter pipes, grind boxes, stairs, and rails, perfecting their skills and meeting new challenges. Also included in improvements at the park are a 4,200 square foot post tension concrete slab with a wheelchair accessible walk and drainage improvements.

Houston Mayor Bill White and District H Council Member Adrian Garcia will take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The skate park is expected to be a popular recreation feature for the area, and everyone is invited to attend the grand opening and test their skateboarding skills.
