Dear Volunteers,

GIVE A DAY, GET A DISNEY DAY.

The Mayor's Volunteer Initiatives Program (V.I.P.) has partnered with Disney and the HandsOn Network to offer several volunteer opportunities throughout the year. In 2010, Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities and celebrate their good works by giving each of them one day admission to a theme park at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort, free.

Please go to www.disneyparks.com to search for volunteer opportunities made available through HandsOn Network and sign up for a day of volunteer service.

Currently, V.I.P. has the following opportunities available through Disney:

  • Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC) Volunteer Day - Saturday, January 30, 2010, noon - 4 p.m.
  • BBVA Compass Tour de Houston - Sunday, March 21, 2010, 5 a.m. - 2 p.m.

One must pre-register and sign up for eligible volunteer opportunity at www.disneyparks.com. Ticket quantities for this program are limited and you need to be at least age 6 to participate. Other terms and conditions apply. (Please note, opportunities outside of a 60 day window are not viewable.)

See www.houstontx.gov/volunteer for additional City of Houston volunteer opportunities.
