FEMA to Close Houston's Disaster Recovery Center Saturday, January 16th
One More Week to Apply for Assistance

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)'s Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center will close on Saturday January 16th at 2:00pm.

After this period, residents affected by the Halloween Storm will have to apply for, and check the status of their FEMA Application for Individual Assistance via telephone or website.

The DRC has been open since December, and has been staffed with specialists who can provide guidance regarding disaster recovery and rental resources, explain written correspondence received from FEMA, inform survivors of the status of their application, make referrals to other organizations and answer questions.

If you are a Harris County resident who sustained damage to your home or business, you should apply with FEMA for assistance.

Visiting a DRC is not required to register for FEMA assistance. Those with questions, regarding the application process, or who decide to register for assistance after the DRC closes, can apply online at disasterassistance.gov, or by phone (voice, 711 or relay service) at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY users should call 1-800-462-7585.) The toll-free lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
