Please join the Houston Fire Department as we host an Open House, this Saturday, July 25, 2009, at HFD Fire Station 19, 1801 Gregg at Lyons. Come by and meet your local firefighters, tour the station, pick up a free smoke detector, check out the trucks and meet Captain Elmo: The Fire Safety Robot. The Open House will be from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. It's fun and informative for the whole family.

Working Smoke Detectors Save Lives! Have you tested yours lately? If you are a homeowner and need a smoke detector you can pick one up at any HFD Fire Station or call the HFD Public Affairs Office at 713-495-7900.  If you rent your property, your landlord is required by law to supply you with a working smoke detector. If you need batteries for your smoke detector, call the HFD Public Affairs Office at 713-495-7900.
