Houston Police Department Invites Houston Area High School Students to Apply for the Youth Police Advisory Council

The Houston Police Department's (HPD) Youth Police Advisory Council (YPAC) is recruiting high school students to interact with Chief of Police Charles A. McClelland, Jr. and other top HPD officials regarding issues affecting youth in schools and communities.

A select group of high school students will be chosen for the new school year, to not only address issues of their peers but also participate in community service projects and attend youth leadership conferences throughout the state.

YPAC members are required to meet five times during the school year at HPD Headquarters at 1200 Travis, Houston, TX, 77002. Applications are being accepted now and are due October 1, 2010.
