Notice of Public Meeting on Capital Improvement Plan
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and City of Houston (COH) will conduct a public meeting (as required for federally funded project) on:
Wednesday, December 7, 2011
The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on proposed improvements to Greens Road from JFK Boulevard to US Highway 59 including widening the road from 2 to 4 lanes between the project limits, and the construction of a storm water management system. The proposed project is approximately 1.61 miles long.
Additional right-of-way would be required for the proposed action. Personnel from the COH Real Estate Branch will be available to discuss the procedures, benefits and programs and will provide other needed information regarding land acquisition.
The meeting will be in open house format. Documents and exhibits will be available for viewing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no formal presentation.
All interested citizens are invited to attend this meeting to express their views and discuss the project with TxDOT and COH Public Works and Engineering (PWE) representatives. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the District Public Information Officer at 713.802.5072 at least two working days before the meeting. Because the meeting will be conducted in English, requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should be made at least two working days before the public meeting. COH will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
Estimated Construction Cost: $12,000,000.00.
The project is currently funded in the adopted Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for preliminary engineering phase only. Final design and construction is anticipated (to be programmed) in the future CIP with proposed federal funding participation through TxDOT.
