Fellow Citizens,

Now that our city is returning back to normal after the major winds of Hurricane Ike, would you please help us replenish the downed trees in our city just in time for the holidays?  In addition to the substantial environmental benefits, imagine how Houston could look in a decade if all esplanades and areas alongside our thoroughfares were planted with trees.

As a part of the "Million Trees + Houston" campaign, we have a special program for the holidays called "Gift of Trees".  Would you consider buying a tree in honor of your friends, family and/or employees during this special time of year?  It is easy to do and the benefits can be felt for generations to come.

To buy your gift of trees today, please go to www.treesforhouston.org or download the attached donation form.  For more information, please contact Barry Ward with Trees for Houston, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, at 713-840-TREE (8733) or email him at barry@treesforhouston.org.

Thank you for helping us restore and build our special city. Remember, one million trees will be planted one at a time.   Best wishes to you and your family for a peaceful holiday season.

Bill White
Mayor
