Housing and Community Development Department
invites you to
Fall Open House and Public Hearing

Who: Housing & Community Development Department

What: Fall Open House & Public Hearing on what the Housing & Community Development Department should put into the final version of its upcoming action plan

Why: Do you see a need or opportunity in your neighborhood and wonder how to get the City of Houston's Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) involved? The department is giving the public opportunities on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 to provide input on how the City should invest approximately $40 million in federal funds over the next year to improve Houston neighborhoods and quality of life for low- and moderate-income families.

Information about current HCDD programs will also be available.

"We want the public to know that we hear them and have not forgotten that there are needs to be met, and we are going to make ourselves as accessible as possible," said HCDD Director Tom McCasland.

The department's open house events are designed to lessen bureaucracy and get maximum public involvement.
These sessions will include interactive demonstrations of how to request a change in your neighborhood.

We will walk you through the process of how to request emergency home repairs, apply for our home buyer assistance program, and other housing related issues.
