Dear Houston Hope Community Residents,
Houston Hope is Mayor Bill White's action plan to improve several of Houston's historic neighborhoods by coordinating public safety programs, restoring existing homes, providing quality new affordable homes, and improving infrastructure and drainage.
Qualified home buyers may receive up to $37,500 in down payment assistance to purchase a home in a targeted area.
We closed 130 homes in 2008 and provided $3.2 million in down payment assistance. You can be the next homeowner!
Tax Benefits of Homeownership
And this year, a tax credit of up to $8,000 is now available for qualified first-time home owners purchasing a primary residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009. A first-time homebuyer is considered someone who has not owned any primary residence for past three years or more. To learn more about the $8,000 tax credit, go to www.FederalHousingTaxCredit.com.
