August 6, 2009
Dear Community Residents,
YOU CAN BE A HOUSTON HOPE HOMEOWNER!
We are proud to announce that as of August 2009, Houston Hope has helped hundreds of families to own quality affordable homes in improved areas of the city.
Houston Hope is Mayor Bill White's action plan to improve several of Houston's historic neighborhoods by coordinating public safety programs, restoring existing homes, providing quality new affordable homes, and improving infrastructure and drainage.
Qualified homebuyers may receive up to $37,500 in downpayment assistance to purchase a home in a targeted area. We closed 130 homes in 2008 and provided $3.2 million in downpayment assistance. You can be the next homeowner!
Increased Household Income Limits
The household limits for the Workforce Housing Downpayment Assistance program have been increased from 110% to 120% of the Houston area median income. If your income exceeded the limits before, you may now qualify for downpayment assistance. To view the new income requirements, visit: https://www.houstontx.gov/houstonhope/qualify.html
