February 7, 2013 Air China Begins Historic Service at IAH in July 2013 The United States Department of Transportation granted approval for Air China to begin new nonstop service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Beijing, China on July 11, 2013 with four weekly flights. This historic flight marks the first nonstop service to mainland China from the South Central region of the U.S. and will make Houston Air China's fifth gateway in North America. This new service will become the first scheduled passenger destination in the U.S. that Air China has added in three decades. Travelers are now able to book their nonstop flights to Beijing beginning July 11, 2013 and beyond.
