March Green Building Education Event
Climate Change; Past, Present, Future
Wednesday, February 24, 2016
6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.
Green Building Resource Center
1002 Washington Avenue
In partnership with the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council
How will Climate Change affect building design and resliency? The Houston Chapter of the International Building Performance Simulation Association in conjunction with US Green Building Council is bringing Jud Partin, PhD, a paleoclimatologist with the University of Texas at Austin, to present his findings regarding externally-forced and internally-driven changes that affect the earth's climate.
Jud uses paleoclimate archives to help evaluate both current climate trends and climate models, which are used to project future changes. He focuses on producing long records of aquatic hydroclimate using mineral deposits, corals, and amoebas from the tropics, caves and icecaps. So, if you'd like to hear from a live scientist learning from history to prepare for the future, instead of the media or partisan politics, please join us.
