2009 Corporate Games
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department encourages businesses, individual teams and groups to register for The 2009 Houston Corporate Games presented by Humana, scheduled for Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, 2009. The games are designed to promote health and fitness through a friendly, inter-company competition for employees.
The games will be held at Memorial Park venues and are designed to encourage participation by all employees, regardless of skill or fitness levels. All equipment will be provided by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department. Games include: a walk/run (3 mile loop), a softball slam, a basketball hot shot, an obstacle course, a soccer dribble/shoot, a tennis volley, a football TD pass, tai chi, shuttle run, tug of war and a golf putting contest.

The registration deadline is Friday, April 17, 2009, so don't delay! Sign up now and begin a practice regimen with your team! A $250 team registration fee is required and all proceeds will benefit Houston Parks and Recreation Department's Athletes Seeking Knowledge Program (ASK), which seeks to mold better student-athletes by offering tools and guidance for obtaining academic success. ASK offers participants ages 12 - 18 a number of free educational resources, including tutorial sessions at community centers, professionally-administered test prep sessions, and organized university tours.
