Changes Proposed for Items Related to Subdivision Platting and Development
The Planning and Development Department is proposing amendments to Chapters 10, 33, 39, 40, and 42 of the Code of Ordinances related to subdivision plat and site plan applications.
These amendments include a series of technical amendments, as well as changes requested by the Super Neighborhood Alliance and the Greater Houston Builders Association. These changes address items such as screening for group electric meters, location of group mailboxes, placement of garbage and recycling cans for townhome developments with private driveways, building line encroachments, shared driveway standards and improvements to the special minimum building line and lot size program.
We are seeking public comment until May 1, 2015. You can read about the ordinance and provide feedback at https://www.houstontx.gov/feedback-ordamendments.html.
After the public comment period is completed, the Department will present the information to the Houston Planning Commission and City Council for further review and consideration.
