June 20, 2013 ReBuild Houston Project Completed in Your Area The Briar Drive and Old Oaks Drainage Improvements Project provided construction services to resolve storm water drainage problems due to insufficient pipe capacity along Briar Drive and insufficient outfall capacity along Old Oaks Drive. The $1.4M project began in November 2012 and was completed in April 2013. Along Briar Drive, the project provided drainage improvements by installing approximately 2,395 feet of concrete pipe and pavement repair. Along Old Oaks Drive, the project provided additional outfall capacity by installing approximately 1,665 feet of concrete pipe and pavement repair. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements.
