September 23, 2013 ReBuild Houston Project Underway in District G The Charnwood Area Asphalt Street Overlay Project will improve the area by removing old asphalt and replacing it with a new asphalt driving surface. This project, which runs along Inwood, Middlewood, Woodway, Creekwood and Briar Rose near S. Voss and San Felipe, will begin in mid-October 2013 and is anticipated to be complete by mid-November 2013. Asphalt street overlay projects aid in extending the life of a roadway. First, a milling crew will remove the old asphalt surface. Once the old asphalt is removed, a second crew will come in with an asphalt paving machine and apply a new road surface between 1" to 2" thick. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter-initiated "pay-as-you-go" plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. ReBuild Houston will help improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Charnwood Area Asphalt Street Overlay Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
