June 06, 2013 ReBuild Houston Project Under Way in Your Neighborhood The City of Houston Department of Public Works and Engineering has completed a $9.5 million Neighborhood Street Reconstruction (NSR) Project in the Spring Branch area. The project, which improved drainage in the community, replaced existing residential streets that have deteriorated beyond economical repair and normal maintenance. The project, completed in March 2013, involved the design and construction of concrete paving with storm drainage, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting and necessary underground utilities. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. This NSR in the Spring Branch Area Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you. For questions about this project email pwecip@houstontx.gov or call 832.395.2090.
