ReBuild Houston Project Underway in District A
The W. Tidwell (Tanner) Road and Hempstead Highway Intersection Reconstruction Project will improve streets that have deteriorated beyond normal maintenance and repair. This $1.4M improvement project, which runs along W. Tidwell at Hempstead Highway, is anticipated to be complete late July 2014.
The W. Tidwell (Tanner) Road and Hempstead Highway Intersection Reconstruction Project strives to improve traffic circulation, mobility and drainage in the area by reconstructing the approaches to the Union Pacific Railroad railroad crossing, which includes 305 linear feet of two 24-foot roadways in each direction. Additional project highlights include the grading of Singer Ditch, curbs, sidewalks, traffic signals, street lighting, inlets and necessary utilities.
The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The W. Tidwell (Tanner) Road and Hempstead Highway Intersection Reconstruction Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
