Re-Pride Sunnyside Kick-off Saturday March 31, 2012
Clean-up and Beautification Initiative Targets Sunnyside Neighborhood

Re-Pride Sunnyside, a new clean-up and beautification initiative targeting one of Houston's oldest neighborhoods, will kickoff Saturday, March 31, 8:30 a.m. at Sunnyside Park. The event will feature a news conference, followed by the first in a series of clean-up and beautification projects targeting Sunnyside.

Spearheaded by the City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods, District D City Council Member Wanda Adams and State Representative Borris Miles, Re-Pride Sunnyside will involve the participation of 150 student volunteers from Worthing High School. The Houston Parks and Recreation Department will provide mulch for the project.

The project will target the area bounded by the 610 South Loop, Cullen Boulevard, Reed Road and Scott Street. Future projects will extend to other parts of Sunnyside.
