ReBuild Houston Project Underway in District C
Brinkman Bridge Reconstruction
The Brinkman Bridge Reconstruction Project will improve the overall road surface and safety of the bridge. This approximately $168,000 project, which began in February 2015 and is anticipated to be complete in April 2015, is located at the 4900 block of Brinkman, 77018.
The existing timber clear span bridge was removed and replaced with a double barrel concrete culvert bridge. A concrete culvert bridge has a life expectancy of 50 plus years; as compared to a timber bridge which has a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years.
The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Brinkman Bridge Reconstruction Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
