Grace Period Begins for Those with Overdue Red Light Camera Tickets

Officials of the Houston Police Department, on November 20, 2009, announced the beginning of a 60-day grace period for those yet to pay overdue red light camera tickets.  To enforce payment of delinquent red light camera fines, the City of Houston passed an ordinance which allows the city to request that the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles place a hold on renewal of vehicle registration until the fine is paid.  Overdue tickets not paid by January 30, 2010 will result in such a hold.

Vehicle owners have several options for resolving a Notice of Violation (1) pay online at www.violationinfo.com; (2) pay by phone toll-free at 1.866.790.4111; (3) pay by mail; or (4) pay in person at the Municipal Courts Building located at 1400 Lubbock or at a walk-in payment center located at 1301 Travis, Suite 145.  Video and still photos of violations, can be viewed online at www.violationinfo.com.
