Main St. Houston, TX 77022, one block north of Crosstimbers. Directions: Exit Crosstimbers from I-45 North and go west to Main Street, or take the North Main Street exit from the North Loop 610 and head north. The City of Houston Building Materials Reuse Warehouse takes donations of gently used building materials, stores the material, and makes it available free of charge to non-profit organizations. To date, we have diverted 80 tons of construction/demolition material from area landfills. We are well on our way to meet our goal to divert 200 tons by next spring. Numerous individuals and companies have made material donations. Numerous nonprofit, religious, educational, and community development organizations have put tons of material to reuse. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas, on December 24. By placing canned goods, non-perishable food items or toys in a grocery bag at the curb on your SWMD garbage collection day during the week of December 7 - 11, 2009, Houstonians will help contribute to needy Houston families. Throughout December, Houstonians not on the City's garbage collection service, may bring food and toys to one of the following Solid Waste Management facilities:
