Sewer Repair Scheduled at Taft and Hawthorne

The City of Houston Department of Public Works and Engineering (PWE) is scheduled to repair a sanitary sewer line and manhole, followed by street restoration, at the Taft and Hawthorne intersection. This work is tentatively scheduled for mid-November to early December 2013, weather permitting.

PWE received information regarding a large depression in the street and a thorough investigation determined the sewer line cracked and is susceptible to infiltration and erosion. Barricades were placed to ensure public safety.

Note: Once work starts there may be some limited traffic delays.

This project is being managed by PWE Public Utilities Division, WasteWater Operations Branch. For questions contact Alvin Wright at or 832.395.2455.
