Mayor Bill White is breaking ground in Sunnyside
This Saturday, March 28th at 10:30 a.m. Mayor Bill White and community leaders will be in Sunnyside to break ground on the construction of 10 new affordable homes. Please join the groundbreaking ceremony at 8230 Colonial Lane, Houston, Texas 77051.
Sunnyside Place Community Development Corporation (CDC), in partnership with the City of Houston, is building the energy efficient homes as part of the Houston HOPE program - the Mayor's initiative where the City is investing in new housing developments and infrastructure improvements in some of Houston's historic neighborhoods.
The homes are affordably priced at $120,000, and income eligible families can receive up to $37,500 in down payment assistance from the City of Houston Homebuyers Assistance Program (HAP). Which means a mortgage would be no more than the monthly rent on an apartment; taxes and insurance included. Please contact 713-522-HOME for more information on the City's down payment assistance programs.
Each home has a square footage of 1457; with differing floor plans that meet most potential buyer's needs, the homes will all be 2 stories with brick front, three bedrooms, 2 ? baths, and 2-car garage. The lot sizes will provide for a nice front yard and spacious backyard with a privacy fence and gate. For more information on the homes contact Sunnyside Place CDC and ask for Sonja Grant at 713-731-7092.
Please join Mayor White and the Sunnyside community in celebrating this momentous occasion as the City of Houston works to improve neighborhoods one block at a time.
