68th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade
Thursday, November 23, 2017
Downtown Houston

Mayor Sylvester Turner, along with grand marshal Grey's Anatomy star Chandra Wilson, will jump-start the 2017 holiday season with the 68th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday, November 23rd at 9 a.m. On the heels of Hurricane Harvey, this year's parade celebrates what Houston embodies: Houston is Thankful; Houston is Strong; Houston is Tradition, and; Houston is Family.  This year's parade will also include the "Mayor's Citywide Sing-along", a new annual tradition where parade attendees can join with Marquist Taylor to sing "Lean On Me" as performed on the 'Tonight Show.' Mario Lopez, host of "Extra," the Emmy® Award-winning entertainment news program, will serve as guest commentator throughout the parade.

The parade is free to the public and begins at 9 a.m. A limited number of seats are available at the parade's starting line, and can be purchased through the official website for $28 each. There is plenty of free curbside space along the route for lawn chairs and blankets. The route will begin at Smith at Lamar, proceed north to Walker, east to Milam, south to Pease, west to Louisiana, north to Clay, west to Smith, and north to Smith and Dallas. Various food trucks will be stationed throughout the route. And don't forget to look for official City of Houston Snapchat filters!

**Parking is available in Tranquillity Garage, entrance #2 on Rusk St. and entrance #5 on Capitol St. Please note, the garage is still in repair due to Hurricane Harvey and does not have elevator access. Anyone with special needs or families with strollers should park in Hobby parking garage, entering from Rusk St. For additional parking options, please visit the Thanksgiving Day website at https://www.houstontx.gov/thanksgivingparade. Metro buses will run on a holiday schedule. For route and schedule information, please visit Houston Metro at https://www.ridemetro.org or call at 713-635-4000. PLAN YOUR TRIP PRIOR TO HEADING DOWNTOWN.

Join us as we embrace the holiday spirit with sensational floats, high-flying balloons, marching bands, artistic entries and live entertainment! Please arrive early for paid seating and expect road closures and heavy traffic.
