Dear Citizens,

The City of Houston is continuing Phases II and III of its Urban Corridor Planning initiative to create a high quality urban environment in areas along METRO's light rail lines.  The effort will change how the City regulates development and designs its streets and other infrastructure that will facilitate mobility and access for pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and transit patrons.

Since June 2006, when Phase I of the effort began, the City has held public workshops in five of the light rail corridors - East, North, Southeast, Main, and Uptown and three citywide community meetings.  The results from work to date and additional information are available on the project website at www.houstontx.gov/planning/urban_cor.html.

The public is invited to the workshop for the University Corridor, the final corridor to be addressed in Phases II and III.  By participating in the upcoming workshop, you will be shaping the future of your community and helping to develop plans and policies addressing mobility, public spaces, urban design and implementation strategies.  The date, time, and location information for the workshop are as follows:

Parking is available in the lot behind the church.
You can also get to this location on METRO Route 82-Westheimer.

Everyone is welcome to attend the workshops and you are welcome to forward this notice to anybody who may be interested.  Spanish speakers will be available. We hope you will be able to join us!

La Ciudad continuara con las Fases II y III del esfuerzo Planificacion de Corredores Urbanos para crear un ambiente urbano de alta calidad en areas alrededor de vias de rieles electricos METRO.  Este esfuerzo cambiara como la Ciudad regula el desarrrollo y disena sus calles y otra infraestructura que facilitara movilidad y acceso para peatones, ciclistas, conductores de automoviles y patrones de transito.  Desde junio del 2006, cuando inicio la Fase I, la Ciudad organizo cinco talleres publicos en cada corredor - East, North, Southeast, Main, y Uptown, incluyendo tres juntas comunitarias para toda la ciudad.  Los resultados del trabajo e informacion adicional estan disponibles en la pagina del proyecto en el Internet al visitar www.houstontx.gov/planning/urban_cor.html.

El publico esta invitado a participar en la ultima junta de las Fases II y III para el Corredor University.  Al participar en el proximo taller, tu ayudaras a formar el futuro de tu comunidad y a desarrollar planes y polizas para mejorar movilidad, espacios publicos, diseno urbano y estrategias de implementacion.  La siguiente informacion incluye la fecha, hora, y ubicacion del taller:
