July 26, 2010 -- Houston City Controller Ronald C. Green was formally recognized by the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada July 26, at the association’s annual convention in Charleston SC, for his successful completion of the Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (CPFIM) credential. Green successfully completed eight hours of CPE credits and passed the exam set forth by APT US&C.

The CPFIM program is a nationally recognized accreditation designed to recognize individuals and demonstrate to the community and employer that they are a qualified investment manager. The CPFIM’s six modules include investment management, banks, brokers and advisors, governance and investment policy, safety, liquidity and yield, cash flow, and strategy.

As Houston City Controller, Green is responsible for an investment portfolio of $2 billion.

Founded in 1965, APT US&C represents 2,000 public treasury and finance officials in local, county and state/provincial governments throughout North America.
