Important Meetings on Crime Prevention in The Greater Third Ward Community

 

 

 

January 24, 2014 -- The City of Houston District D Council Office is hosting a town hall meeting to discuss the recent crime in the community.

 

 

The meeting will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Residents of District D and The Greater Third Ward Community are invited to join Council Member Dwight Boykins’; The Houston Police Department Police Chief, Charles McClelland; University of Houston Chief of Police, Ceasar Moore Jr.; Texas Southern University Chief of Police, Roger Byers; Greater Southeast Management District, TIRZ #7(OST/Almeda Corridors Redevelopment Authority); HISD Chief of Police, Robert Mock; and Precinct 7 Constable May Walker for the meeting.

 

The town hall will take place at 6:30 pm at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 3826 Wheeler St. 77004, to discuss crime prevention methods in the community.

 

The District D Council Office has received a heightened number of calls and emails regarding crime in the third ward area and Council Member Boykins aims to address this issue by bringing all public safety officials to the community at a convenient hour. After presentations, citizens will have the opportunity to address the council member and make public comments.

 

These meetings will provide residents with the opportunity to discuss their concerns to the proper officials and develop a plan of action to reduce the crime rate within their communities. Council Member Boykins encourages all District D residents to attend.
