On Saturday, June 6th, Council Member Sullivan hosted the first B.O.P.A. (“B”atteries “O”il “P”aint “A”ntifreeze) recycling event in District E that allowed residents in Kingwood the opportunity to drop off batteries, oil, paint, antifreeze, and e-waste. Kingwood was one of many stops the City of Houston made for residents to drop off hard to dispose items. The main drop off center is located at 5900 Westpark.

Volunteers helped collect the items that were dropped off by Kingwood residents.

Residents could drive up with their BOPA items, and volunteers unloaded their vehicles and organized the waste accordingly.
Several different SWD trucks showed up with supplies to run the event; others showed up for disposal of the hard to dispose items. The main drop off center for the City of Houston is located at 5900 Westpark.
