Council Member Sullivan attended the Houston Police Department’s ceremony for police Sergeant Paul Ogden who was recognized for spending countless hours solving the murder of the department’s first Hispanic female, Officer Velia “Belle” Ortega. His investigations lead to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of the murder weapon. Sgt. Ogden has served as a patrol sergeant for the last 26 years and has yet to lose his enthusiasm for patrol work, his role as a Field Training Sergeant and serving the community.
