May 21, 2007 -- The following information is to provide guidelines for the City of Houston's Amnesty Program. If you have questions that are not addressed at this site, please call the Houston Service Helpline by dialing 3-1-1.
The Amnesty period will begin MONDAY, MAY 21, 2007, and end on FRIDAY, JUNE 15, 2007 10:00 P.M..
The Amnesty period will be applicable only to unadjudicated outstanding delinquent violations and to cases in which a warrant was issued prior to and including February 28, 2007. Only cases that meet this criteria qualify to be resolved under Amnesty guidelines and procedures.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE
Only the defendant named in the citation or their attorney can participate in the amnesty period. Bonding companies, friends, relatives, and spouses cannot make the request on behalf of someone else, except when paying a capias pro fine.
All minors under the age of seventeen (17) are considered "Juveniles", and must appear in Court with a parent, guardian, or managing conservator to handle their cases including defendants charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Minor in Possession of Tobacco cases. Defendants (17) and older are considered "Adults: (even if their citation was issued when they were a Juvenile) and their case(s) may be addressed and resolved as an Adult.
CRIMINAL CASES
Any defendant who voluntarily appears in the Municipal Court during amnesty will be permitted to pay all outstanding delinquent cases without assessment of FTA fine and will not be subject to arrest and incarceration.
PARKING CASES
Defendants with delinquent parking violations will be given the opportunity to pay the original ticket amount + 30% Collection Fee all other additional late fees will be waived.

BY WESTERN UNION (WIRE TRANSFER): Pay by wire transfer using "Quick Collect" Delivery Service. Fine amount must first be obtained by calling Municipal Courts and indicate that you are participating in the Amnesty program.
ONLINE Pay by credit card only by accessing the City of Houston Municipal Court's website at www.houstoncourts.org and select " Ticket Payments".
