PRESIDING JUDGE EXTENDS RESCHEDULING PERIOD AFTER HURRICANE RITA

LogoOctober 3, 2005 -- Citizens who were unable to appear for their scheduled court setting on September 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27 due to disruptions in preparations for and in the aftermath of Hurricane Rita, will have until 10 PM, Friday, October 7, 2005 to reschedule their cases.  Presiding Judge Berta Mejía had originally granted citizens until Wednesday, October 5 to request resets, but will grant citizens two additional days.  She also made clear that arrest warrants will be issued against those who fail to reschedule within this period.   Resets may be requested in person at the Court location where case was set or, if not possible, at any of the following locations:
