The COH Fire Code "Appendix J" - Effective 12/31/05
The new retroactive high-rise building sprinkler ordinance, issued as a new amendment (Appendix J) to the current COH Fire Code. Alarms - The City desires to reduce the number of false fire alarm notifications by encouraging the proper design, installation, operation and maintenance of the alarm systems. An annual Fire Alarm Permit and False Fire Alarm Fees were enacted July 1, 2002.

High Rise Certification -Any Building Manager in need of High-Rise Certification Training may send attendees to the following monthly seminars at no cost. Monthly seminars are available for management employees and tenant fire wardens of high-rise buildings who need to be certified.

The Houston High-Rise Triad is a partnership between Building Management, Fire Department and the Building Department created to develop and recommend a model High-Rise Life Safety Action Plan committed to the protection of life and property.
